There are many excellent scenes showing that while Dexter knows this is just the sort of guy he needs to stop, he's also incredibly excited, and even impressed, by a man who is so good at a craft that Dexter is just as much a part of, code or no code. The Ice Truck Killer becomes fixated on Dexter, knowing more than he should about him, and beginning a game of cat and mouse that Dexter is incredibly excited to join in on.
THE TUDORS SEASON 1 EPISODE 10 OPENING SCENE SERIAL
The entire first season of the show dealt with The Ice Truck Killer, another serial killer, who unlike Dexter, is making sure all of Miami knows he's in town and leaving a trail of eerily bloodless bodies behind him. Hall perfectly embodies this man, playing both Dexter and the persona that Dexter himself is playing, while always allowing us to see the dangerous glint underneath the facade Dexter is putting up. But he knows it's pivotal he fit in, and act the part of a grieving coworker, a caring boyfriend, or whatever the situation calls for. More than that, Dexter has a hard time processing emotions, and in fact doubts he even has any genuine feelings. Dexter is a man who is putting up a big front to all of those around him the front of a nice, normal, non-serial killer. Hall is absolutely phenomenal in this role. Hall who guides the show as the adult version. While we see many flashbacks to Dexter as a boy and a teenager, it's Six Feet Under's Michael C.

But in a dark variation on the classic superhero origin, Harry took it upon himself to mentor and hone his little boy's twisted psyche, deciding that okay, if he's going to grow up to kill people, why shouldn't it be people who deserve it? So Dexter lives and kills by a code. Taken in as a young boy by his foster father Harry (James Remar), Dexter was clearly already a homicidal little thing. However, Dexter is one of the most complicated serial killers you'll ever meet - well, hopefully you won't meet any, but you get the drift.
THE TUDORS SEASON 1 EPISODE 10 OPENING SCENE SERIES
Based on a series of novels, Dexter takes this to the next degree, because our "hero" isn't a dirty cop, or even a gangster, but rather a straight up serial killer.

The writers weren't shy about their fickle commitment to history, but throughout the course of the show, there were a lot of interesting storylines that strayed completely from reality, as well as a lot of surprising storylines that were totally based on fact. Showtime's steamy historical soap opera The Tudors is one of the network's more memorable forays into original television, and although the show did have a historical basis it was pretty notorious for taking a lot of liberties with real historical fact for the sake of creating a more entertaining show.
